E320 CDI, Service indicator reset, 54 reg

Hello,

My car is showing service due message ( 22 days remaining for Next Service). My car has done 30,000 miles. I have only driven my car 1500 miles since last service.

Could you please advise how to reset service indicator.

I have tried whats said in this link but it does not work....I am not changing oil...I only want service indicator extending...

what do we refer to as reset button...is it a round pin sort of knob ...

I have the following for a 2000 E320 cdi:-
first call the lower left button on the steeing wheel button B the up arrow is C.
Turn ign to pos 2.
Press button B until you have trip and total mileage displayed.
Repeatadly press button C until the service symbol appears with distace remaining.
press the R button next to the instrument cluster for 3 secs until "do you want to reset service interval" appears.
Confirm by pressing the R button.
Release button R then within 5 secs press button R until the new service interval appears.
Release button R
turn off ign.
