Hi
A few weeks ago I had my 2001 E320 CDi serviced at MB direct Manchester, since then when I start the car on my drive, which is on a very steep slope, it fires up then stops and takes a long crank to start it, this occurs only on the steep slope, other than that it runs perfectly, the car previously started no problem anywhere after a short crank, the glow plug indicator always goes out after a couple of seconds, and this problem only occurs after the car has been left over night.

Has anyone any ideas, or ever come accross a simular problem

Air leak sounds like the kiddy - way to find out is to park the car the other way around if you get my drift - you may just get rewarded with a diesel leak which is easier to find .

my w210

parked on a hill with 1/4 of a tank wont start aa man told me they are notorious for inaccurate gauges also my maf needed a good clean to..

Bigdw, Sounds like an air leak to me, was the fuel filter changed at the time they serviced it?.....if so, ask them to check the connections to it, particularly the '0' rings which might have been damaged during assembly.
