My car is for sale . I will be heartbroken to see it go, but I've recently exchanged flying 40,000 miles per year for driving 30,000 miles per year, and this car's too good for that kind of treatment. It's a Mercedes Benz E320 Coupe (W124) in Blue Black metallic, with mushroom leather interior. Tax is currently to May 2009 and MOT to April 2009. First registered on 1st October 1994 ('M' reg), I am only the second owner; the first having owned it from new until I bought it on 4th June 2005. The service book is fully stamped by Mercedes Benz Salisbury throughout the first owners' time, and I've maintained it at Jaymanek's Mercland with other work carried out by Andy Gayle. The last service was done on 12/03/08. Mileage is currently 83,000 (although the car is in use). As I have said, the service book is fully stamped, and I have all MOTs, receipts and invoices since I took the car on, but no paperwork from before my ownership. Specification: Sportline chassis (lowered and stiffened suspension, wider wheels and quicker steering rack with smaller steering wheel) and interior Electric driver's and passenger's seats, both heated (2-stage heating) Driver's seat is orthopaedic (three airbags in the backrest which can be individually inflated or deflated, along with inflatable side bolsters) Full climate control, which is quite rare Twin airbags Front and rear central glove compartments, which compensate for the loss of the main glovebox due to the passenger airbag Outside Temperature Gauge Four electric windows (the full 'pillarless' effect) Electric tilt / slide sunroof Headlamp wash/wipe Aftermarket (Avital Maxx1) alarm which provides remote central locking, and has a spare circuit which could easily be rigged to provide full closure, or remote start, for instance. Everything works exactly as it should, except one of the headlamp wipers - which doesn't wipe, and (other than the alarm and the Blaupunkt Casablanca CD Radio) is completely original. Bad Points: Both front wheel arches are bubbling - OSF is holed; plus a tiny patch on the OSR arch. Scuff on the front bumper corner There is a thumbnail sized chip in the laquer in the driver's door. NB: The paint beneath is unaffected The stitching on the steering wheel is coming undone There's a scratch in the leather on the centre console by the driver's seat The car has never seen paint, so there are some stonechips on the bonnet One of the 'specialists' (not named above) kerbed the front nearside wheel (barely noticeable) The rear window is beginning to delaminate, but this is a common, if not omnipresent fault with W124 coupes Since I've owned it, I've spent in the order of £3,500 on maintenance, which means that mechanically and electronically (which are the important things), it's one of the very best E320 coupes out there. This is a totally honest, unmolested example, with a desirable options list, low mileage, only two owners, and a great future. I am inviting offers at this stage, so get in early, and PM me. If I get no interest, then I'll replace the front wings, and sort the bumper scuff, and then sell the car at a correspondingly higher price. You have been warned! More words here. Pictures here.
