I need few tips and advices, please.
Found today an E320 cdi Sport , 56 plate, 41k miles( comand, phone kit prewire, black leather, 2 owners) for £ 18000 and don`t know what to do . Is it worth buying this E320 or not ?

What about an ex demo C220 Sport auto, 57 plate, comand, phone , leather and so on ...for £ 22500 or shall i go for an c200k sport for the same price ?

Which one is worth buying ?? I need pros and cons .

Regards

I would go with the E320 CDi they have some real grunt, good economy, more space inside and out, stylish, cheaper and rides well on the plus side, on the negative it's older, an older design, has a few miles under the belt, marginally more expensive to run but offset by the purchase price and it's not so modern. The C is bang uo to date the E hits the mark for me.

Good luck!

Regards

Richard

I would choose the E320 CDI, most powerful and most economical as well, and if you ever decide you need a little more power you could quite easily get an extra 20-30 BHP.

I think the C200k would be a mistake, you'll also lose a lot more on depreciation on it if that matters to you.:)

Right...thanks guys! Got one more question: e320 cdi sport has only one key ? How much is a spare key ?
And there is no Comand DVD disc...how much is that as well ? May i use the dvd/cd disc used on my c180k ? Would it work ?
I`m thinking of asking a lower price for e320...£ 17k maybe

One question : in e320 sport the sound system is bose or standard? How many speakers? In my c180k i have bose speakers. How do i find out ?

Check the data card for all the accessory codes

Phoned MB just now and was told that i need DVD disc for £250+VAT ( ! ).
Tyres sizes for e320cdi sport ?? Could anyone tell me the sizes, please ? It looks like i have to change 2 tyres. Thanks

...and only one key.

Where are you buying this car - presumeably not an MB dealer? Are you sure its service history is OK? That will be essential in the event of warranty claims.

Totally agree and I would get the car thoroughly checked out.

Why no disc? Why no extra key?

These keys are NOT cheap and you just cannot walk into the dealership and buy one over the counter.

I would phone the stores dept and check what they will need to see if you decide to purchase a second key.

Do NOT be fooled into buying a replacement key on the Internet

My thoughts are that these are brilliant cars but they need to be spoilt and a 'cheap bargain' can work out EXTREMELY expensive.

What warranty is being offered with the car?

When was it last serviced by a main dealer?

When did the car get upgraded with all the very latest service bulletins?

Its a franchise dealer. Thanks glojo ! Serviced at 32000 miles...warranty until nov 2009+ some extra 1 year.
2nd key is broken completely so I need a new one... DVD disc is missing ...
I`m trying to get it down to £16500...i`ll let you know.
Going now to see another one ...MB Loughton. Wish me luck :L)

There's no way a dealer should be selling a car that needs a couple of tyres (I didn't think the Mercedes scheme allowed them to do that?) I'm also surprised that they won't include the disk (after all, it hasn't really got navigation without the disk) or the second key.

Dealers make huge margins on these items so even if they won't include them then they should be able to supply them fairly cheaply.

If a franchised dealer is trying to sell a car without a key, with no nav disc and in need of tyres I'd not consider using them for anything.

It sounds like they're trying to sell it as a 'trade' sale with all those items needing attention.

As long as the car itself checks out ok, history, condition etc the you need to get you're haggling cap on, unfortunately we've just gone into the new tax year otherwise that would have been a big help to you.:)

If it is a dealer then I would want to see the navigation system working before I parted with my money :)

How do you know the system is working? nudge, nudge, wink, wink :devil:

Is the E320CDI being sold with a full MB or aftermarket type warranty. If its not the full MB warranty walk away. As an aside the E class is quite a long car- will it fit your garage/ driveway.

DVD disk was in their office. There is warranty for this car ( full MB ) until nov 09 + some extra 1 year. Price dropped because of the key and tyres...to £ 16500. There is history and done HPI , all clear. Comand unit is working fine( for some reason there are 2 dvd discks..what for ?? ) Phone is working perfect. Sound system is Bose.
And yes, I did say to them about this key ... and called MB in front of them :)
2 owners ... 1st lady owner, 2nd was a manager for Ford and looked after it really well. All leather is mint condition. All round xenons and led lights perfect. There is even a pair of MBs xenons as spares.Air con, bodywork, engine is perfect...no probs...
At MB Loughton i was really impressed with their customer service. Done a test with an e320 sport, 57 plate, 58k miles in silver...all working fine and nothing to worry about...but its in silver...I want in tealite blue or diamond black with all them toys...:)
I shall see about this 56 plate and other 57 and 58...
Had a word with Alfie today and was told he`ll do the ipod for me:)

Thanks a lot you guys ! Keep you posted! :)

Kind regards
