my E230 210 estate has 240k miles and is still going strong

Pricey.

Check the wheel arches/ top of doors for rust.

Just my 2 pennies worth, i think its to much money for the miles and its also very basic spec.

Just google mercedes cdi engine problems.

If you are worried about miles buy a petrol one they tend to have a lot less miles and also higher spec.

Electric memeory heated leather seats, yes i know it 2 years older but its also 2k cheaper and 60k miles less, prob not the best example for comparison but they are out there.

Well card for, the drivetrain goes for 400k, weakpoint here is the bodywork per my original post.

You can do a lot better pricewise and spec as Lynall says

Better, nice looking car, must still examine the wheel arches carefully.

Still pricey for a 200k mile car. My old one was standard elegance spec, you could have had that for 2250, needed £600 of body (wings etc), but otherwise sound.

Don't rush, a nice one at the right price will come along. for £7k you may be able to get an early W211, although I appreciate it may be out of your price range.

...don't know if you have kids, but it has the pop-up booster seats in the back as well as the rear facing seats.

I know of a stunning E230 (P/R reg) if you are interested..
