e320cdi air condition fluid leak

Can anyone advise please. I have a 2002 E320cdi. The EC light has come on again - I believe indicating the level/pressure of the air con fluid is low. My indie topped it up for me about a year ago and all was fine. However, when the indie was changing my brake pipes about a week later the EC light came on again. I believe there are a number of joints in the system and any one could be leaking or even the valve. Can anyone advise where I find the top up valve and whether there are any obvious places to look for a leak. Why am I bothering about air con coming in to winter in Scotland? Thanks

If you have it topped up by an aircon specialist (or even KwikFit) they should put a tracer dye in it. A UV lamp, which the shop should also have, will show where the leak is.
