E320cdi drops out of gear

Hi, I am having problems with my 2001 e320cdi Auto. If anyone can help I would be grateful, the problems are described below:

Air bag light on more often than not.

Cruise control will no longer set.

Will sometimes bang into gear when shifted from n-r/d

May also bang into gear whilst driving, loses turbo and loses first gear. can usually be reset by pulling over , switching off and on again. Doesnt always cure problem first time and sometimes can lose all gears altogether.

I have had an independent mechanic look at it, read load of problems off from diagnostic machine. cleared all problems but airbag light which was suggested faulty connector and car worked great for one day, coincidence? Then back to normal problematic self.

Sounds like whatever the problem is, is forcing the car into get you home mode. Hopefully one of the mechanics will be able to give you some clues as to where to look.

The airbag light will be the passenger seat occupancy sensor or connector.

The dropping out of gear could be low ATF, worn engine and gearbox mounts pulling the linkage, bad connection onto the gearbox or wiring or the Tip selector switches.

Limp home is most likely MAF or EGR valve. The MAF could be causing the hard shifts, but not likely to be the initial bang into gear.

What are the stored codes?

stored fault codes

Hi, stored faults are:

p2200-001 instrument cluster fault over can
p0600-004 can fault the databus is faulty
p0600-008 can fault transmitter faulty
P1481-001 glow plug failure cylinder 1
p1481-002 glow plug failure cylinder 2 - (plugs sorted)
p0100-001 B2/5 (hot film stored maf sensor) signal voltage too low
P1234-128 B37 (pedal value sensor) sensor 2 implausible, sensor 1/2
p0703-128 brake signal plausiblity 2
B1315front passenger seat/child seat recognition has discontinuity or short circuit to positive, also saying it has only detected one transponder also, control unit terminal 15r/15 undervoltage
p2502 the gear is implausible or transmission slipping
p2510 the torque converter lock-up clutch causes implausible closing
p2312/2311 one or more messages from ecu are not available on can bus
p2203 internal electrical check of component y3 6n3 speed sensor 3 has failed

After diagnostic launch by mechanic it read:
b1100 engine-can-bus:can-bus-off
b1102 can-communication with contoller ME is disturbed
p0000 (4,2,0,0) please refer to relevant technical manual

I shall check all mounts and fluids.
