e320cdi is it gearbox prob

e32ocdi auto 2002 year 210.000miles taxi ...a lot of town work. alot of sitting at traffic lights in drive .. when engine at normal working temp and car is in drive but stationery being held on the footbrake .i have an anoying jingle or chingleing noise comeing from under the near side just behind the front wheel. sounds a bit like a belt pully bearing failing but it only happens in drive it goes away in nuetral and its not in reverse . if foot is taken of the brakes vehicle creeps forward revs rise and noise dissapears ..foot back on brakes vehicle labours revs drop and noise returns. started about 2 weeks ago. getting louder although very quiet,,,,,any ideas thanks in antisipation
