Evening all. I replaced the additional break light about a year ago as a few of the LED’s had failed. Bought a new genuine Mercedes part and all was good 👍 The part itself is not a sealed unit, the LED unit fits into the back of the actual light casing itself so I just fitted the LED part into the existing casing as it’s sealed on the boot.
A few of the LED’s have failed again ☹️ I’ve checked and no leaks etc…
My question is does anybody know if you can just buy the LED unit? Seems ridiculous as I’ll end up with 2 brand new light casings which I don’t need! I’ve attached some pics as I’ve probably not explained this very well. Have it repaired or look on eBay for a Chinese copy.

They look like they're standard SMD LEDs; it is possible to replace them individually, but they are pesky little critters to solder without cooking them.
