I initially thought the E coupe didn't look quite so bad as the W212 - but we have one in the office carpark and seeing it in different light each day has convinced me that there isn't much redemption for the styling applied to the coupe either. Some days in the wrong light it just looks so wrong.
My guess is that not enough people agree with you - which is why MB are changing it so quickly on the w212 (It'll be interesting to see if they leave it on the coupe).

Yes, that too, but a few reveiws I read a few years ago were directly comparing the CLS with the 645 and later when the diesel 635 came out, comparing it with the CLS320cdi.
Agreed - IMO the E has dated very quickly because it looks like the front end of a pretty car, connected to the back end of a different pretty car.
Agreed, reluctantly- although the new 6 is super improved on the old one, inside & out and blows both away.
CLS v 6 Series; I just can't see how anyone would be in the market for 'either/ or' of these, they're just not on the same shopping list...
