E350 Coupe suspension knock

Afternoon all,

I have a 2010 E350 Coupe (231) which has developed a knock on the front suspension. It seems to be coming from the top of the strut on the drivers side and is most noticeable over slow speed and specifically speed humps, it sounds like movement in the mount at the top of the strut. I have had the car looked at by DEUTSCH TECH in Milton Keynes and they have checked all of the connecting parts and nothing is loose. Is it likely to be that actual strut that has failed, or has anyone had a similar problem that was something else?

i had the same problem in my e350 and it was my shocks they dry out and its a common fault on them had mine done and good as new

Same slow speed clunk on my W204. They could find no play anywhere but the clonk disappeared with a new strut. Someone here told me it was not an unknown problem. There was a service bulletin about it so the MB dealers should know what to look for.
