Gents perhaps you could assist me with your thoughts on making a good choice of wheels.
I currently have 19 inch wheels on the car (a 2011 coupe) with Continentals.
I am creating a set of 18 inch with winter tyres. I have acquired two sets of 18 inch wheels i.e. 4 8J (A2074011302) and 4 8.5J (A2074011402). All wheels have Continental Contact 3 tyres fitted, one set with plenty of tread and one set quite worn. One set of wheels was refurbished before I purchased (not a bad job but not perfect say 8/10) the other set is original with some slight curbing on the fronts and the odd minor marks.
I have a set of four winter Continental TS830P 235/40 R18 95V XL with kerbing rib MO on order with mytyres due to arrive early in the new year.
And now my question. Should I fit the tyres on the four 8.5J wheels as it seems the 235 tyres will fit either an 8J or 8.5J or should I go with the 8J? Is it sensible to use the same tyres all round for the greatest flexibility or should I use the 8.5J with 355 on the rear?
Many thanks in advance for your opinions.
