what is the second lever on the steering collom??? and did the fase 2 ( face lift ) estates not have the roof slide bars or was this an optional extra?

Just cruise, I would think. My 1997 R129 doesn't have the limiter function.

ive had 98/99 vehicles with speed limiter on so it looks like speed limit was something introduced 98ish? or was it an option??

This car is a 94, don't think any M-Bs had it then but welcome to be corrected if someone knows otherwise! Definitely not an option on the SL in 97.
