E36 - how much oil to top it up?

Does anyone know how much oil is needed to raise the level from min to max?

should be around 1 liter.

but never fill the 104 engine up to max, only half way between min and max.

you may notice some leaks otherwise.

there was an official merc bulletin back in 1995.
