I have a few rust bubbles coming.
I want to keep the car tip-top so I got a quote from a local MB approved body shop.

So, to strip, paint and refit the following

N/S FRONT WING
O/S FRONT WING
O/S QTR PANEL
O/S SILL PANEL
O/S INNER DOOR
PETROL FLAP BLEND
BOOT LID

(Includes supply and fit E36 badge and bootllid star @ £55)

£915 plus VAT

Seems quite a lot.

Not sure bubbles are really bad enough to warrant complete re-paint of panel.

Can anyone recommend a bodyshop / smart repairer in South Brum, Solihull area for a price / sense check please?

Iirc you have a silver car which is a nightmare to get a good colour match, it's not simply a case of spraying a panel and away you go.

If I was you, I'd leave it for a year or two and then have the full car done because if you try and do little bits now, you'll have other bits coming through soon enough.

I take it at that price, they are not fitting new wings, just removing the rust from the old ones?....

In that case, its only likely to reappear agian in due course, which will make it a waste of a partial respray....

Like SPX advises, save up the pennies and get it all done once but properly, replacing panels where necessary.

When I wanted my tailgate adjusted on the previous car, MB Central recommended the bodyshop they use - and it's in Solihull. Somewhere by the fire station, down from Lode Lane, on a side road.

Precise eh?

I'll see if I can get you a name.

It's Bodywork Solihull. Vulcan Rd Industrial Estate - that's where I went.

Maybe I'm being uber-picky as she is at the moment. I do like it to be 100% though.

I'll see if I can photograph the bubbles over the weekend and see what you think.

Looking at Streetmap I'd say that's it, though I don't recall it being called that.

I have a good bodyshop that will do a fantastic job for a lot less.. Pop down if you want a quote?
