E55 AMG Bargain or trouble???

Hmm, not sure.

I don't think it makes sense to pay a great deal more than the starting price as a running car (200k+ miles etc), when you can buy perfectly nice ones with half the mileage for £4k. Unless you're doing all the work yourself and have the parts available cheaply, it could eat up a fair bit of cash? MOT up this month etc.

I wouldn't really want a 200K+ AMG engine with oil pump and tappet problems either ideally.

But I guess that's a lot of parts there for your money, might be better as a breaker? (wheels, bodykit, exhaust, wheel, cluster, xenons etc etc etc?)

Now that is surely a contender for the highest mileage AMG in the country!
It appears in pretty good nick for the mileage.

Definately trouble.

Budget for a new engine or engine rebuild as if the oil-pump isnt working, apart form the tappet problems, what other damage is slowly occurring that hasnt yet manifested itself as a major engine failure?

A breaker only for me with that sort of leg, unless it is otherwise perfect and a new engine & transmission can be sourced cheaply enough to make it a total bargain as it would have to be to justify the messing around.

everything costs big money to fix on them, cats, engine bits, gearbox...rust!

so the £2k bargain could end up costing loads!...

or if checked out and ok... could be a good cheap car to drive around for a year or so and sell on..
