I had a look at this when I was looking over the CLK 55 convertible again. The E55 is well specced with heated rear seats and rear DVD screens, linguatronic etc. However the seats look tired considering the age and mileage. The mats are in the boot and have mildew on them. The inside of the car doesn't smell damp.

The bodywork and wheels look good.

Oops. Thanks mercboiuk. I was rushing to get out of the door and forgot the important bit.

What are these cars/engines like when they get to near 100k? Any real problems to be wary of?

look a good spec, make sure all the electrics work, and take it for a test drive listening out for clunks on full lock and make sure the gearbox changes smoothly. being a 2003 it could have a valeo rad which i personally would change as it can leak into the gearbox. also look for leaks in the struts, and make sure the compressor works after a few blasts (IC pump, only £100 ish to replace tho).

the nappa leather can get very tired, but you can get it reconalised for abt £300. also doesnt have full command, wich was a must when i was looking , retrofit is abt £1k ish.

otherwise seems to tick all the boxes.

Looks like a decent price
