E55 ended at £3,300!!

Blimey that did end cheap and seemed like a full specced example too !

Yeah, sign of the credit crunch I suppose, poverty spec E300 diesels with this mileage fetch more than this, just cant justify that in my head,

Bet he was pleased got an extra £800 second time round.:)

Don't you think, that the pictures tell a thousand things about the seller?

If (and I have done) I were to sell a car on Fleabay, the better quality and size of the pictures help the cause? I know it's not the be all and end all, but it does help . . . Just my HO

Guess it may have had the gearbox changed or reconditioned at some stage? why they would have to change the number plate may mean it was more than just a gearbox?

I don't beleive "The Gearbox" is anything more than a motor accessories shop, where for instance you might purchase a number plate.

It could have done with a rear impact to resolve that rust!

As above.

It's quite common for 2nd hand cars to have had replacement plates fitted - eg due to water ingress (MB plates are usually drilled), or due to personal plates being changed around (not uncommon for high end MBs, which this car would've been at one time)

Shame about the rust. My opinion is that there must be something wrong with this car/seller. Why relist is so quickly each time?

Private auction every time, so quite possible shill bidding? Either that or the car must be a nail!

I also think the number plate is simply the name of an accessories shop, the rust on the bootlid of greater concern. I used to have a 2000 E320 CDI and the amount of rust on it was beyond a joke.

That's the main reason for these e-classes to have nose dived in value, a 5.5 litre V8 only makes things worse (for most prospective buyers at least).

looks like despite his shill bidding he has accepted thats whats its worth, I bet ironically it wont go for 3.3 now!!!

thanks Grav - now Annie has seen your ad, apparently we have got to buy an E55

On the other hand, we hadn't realised just how cheap they've dropped and how many of them are suddenly up for sale - is there some sort of recession thingy going on?

Anyway, you have a PM :)

when i put mine on i spent an hour sorting photos, writing the advert up then put the advert on here to see what you lot thought and someone alterd it fo me and all the pics were big & clear

if you want to sell a car then spending time on good pics and a extensive write up will get more people interested

shame as its a lovly car and looks good

and the first thing i do with every car i buy is get new plates and window bone them on and that makes the car look so much better all for £8
