I have been thinking about going to have a look at this one. Does anyone on here know this car or any of it's history? What do you think of the spec? Personally I am not keen on the wheels, but I suppose that is the last thing to worry about! It's more than I really want to pay but would prefer not to have a 2003 car as read about a few probs with the early models.

I spoke with the dealer about the warranty, he said he thought the previous owner had the extended mercedes warranty but now expired. From reading a few threads on here it seems that having a Tier 1 mercedes warranty is really worth while on one of these, I am assuming I could get that direct from mercedes even if the preious one has expired?

Aren't they Carlsson wheels?

If so, probably worth a bob or two?

they are sl55 wheels, not really an upgrade, the originals are better!

defo go for a late 2004 or later model to avoid the early rad issues and electrical gremlins.

check out New & Used Cars, UK Car Dealers - Parker's regarding options to see how well its spec`d up. if its got full mercedes service history the tier 1 renewal shouldnt be a problem, otherwise they may ask for an inspection.

main thing check all the electrics and toys work.also test the supercharger powers up when doing a test run and looik out for any knocks\clunks etc
good luck!

I'm not sure, but to me they look like the wheels you would generally see on the SL55? Like you say they might be worth a few quid, I just do not think they suit the E55.

Try and get the plate chucked in with the car, it looks pretty cool, probably best to change your name by deedpoll though to suit the latter part of the plate.

LOL!! To be honest I'm not really into private plates, and may even consider de-badging any E55 I may end up with, so only the educated know what it is, rather than drawing attention to it if you know what I mean!

I'd like to get to know that car ;)

Unfortunately I was brought up too sensibly and even though monies would allow I fear my CDI makes more sense (to me anyway)

Lifes a b*tch ;) lol

Urban mpg - 14.1 - OUCH !!!

About the same as my current car - not good but at least I'm used to it!

Thats not too bad given what they can do....

Not keen on the SL55 alloys at all but thats a minor point and easily changed...as a cost.

Dads estate almost looks the same, yet does 40mpg without trying.... Have to say though having been in one its a very rapid way of getting back from B&Q
