many thanks for being so informative!!! Had issues with exhaust... no cats and lambda sensors... ran fine BUT didn't want problems at MOT time so Andy at PCD has put the primary cats back and lambda sensors... and did the x-pipe work for me. who ever did the exhaust blanked the EML light off due to sensors... again not happy at this.... the torque figures were before the exhaust was done... so no doubt will have come down
( however now thinking about getting the supercharger pulley done and this will then do me....
Please don't take this the wrong way but when you say the last thing you can consider you could not be further from the truth, your car is pretty much standard with very limited mods from what I can see. Please correct me if I am wrong but from what I can see your car has
Crank Pulley - not sure what size?
Heat Exchanger - again not sure what size.
Remap
X-pipe
As for the adding the smaller SC pulley, if I were you I would
NOT do it your car is unlikely to be any faster and you could risk the engine.
Looking at your spec in your signature you have standard injectors, standard headers, standard throttle body and still have your primary cats.
Your primary cats and headers will restrict flow so you will be running very high boost which will create significant heat.
Your cooling won't cope, I see you have a johnson pump and you mention having a heat exchanger but is the system split so the SC cooling system is separate from the engine coolant circuit? If not your probably already struggling to deal with the heat from your crank pulley never mind the increase.
Then you need to look at fuelling, what size crank pulley do you have?
If its any bigger than 172 you may well struggle to add enough fuel once you add the smaller SC pulley so will need to think about increasing your injector size. I would also suggest you look at replacing your fuel pump/filter units under the rear passenger seats at the same time especially if your car is over 80K mileage.
Finally if you have a stock throttle body and intake then spinning your supercharger faster means it will just be working harder trying to get air through the restriction which once again will create more heat.
Hopefully you get the picture heat and fuelling will be your biggest problems.
My suggestion based on your current spec in order would be
1. Split the cooling and add either a tank in the engine bay or in the boot where the spare wheel goes.
2. Fit Kleemann Headers but you will have no cats so you will need to fit sports cats
3. Larger Throttle Body and intake that has a larger area at the y-piece
4. Larger injectors and change your fuel pumps if you have more than 80K miles on the car
5. Smaller SC pulley
Step 1 you could do for the same cost as having a SC pulley fitted and a remap. You will likely see an increase in power at RPM but more importantly your car will be faster and will have repeatable power.
