E55
Hi guys,

So I'm still new here and recently bought an E55 AMG W210.
The car is great and I've done nearly 400 miles in it already, just wafting around.

I'm looking for a little gentle advise with regards to new ownership of these cars, what should be done to prolong life of the mechanical parts; the car has done 104k and though now due and oil change (due to time) it is well up together.

Should I be looking at gearbox software updates, ECU updates or any other 'must have' changes to a car like this?

On a side note I need to replace the wings, as they are rotten. Do other non AMG car wings fit?

Thanks guys,

Jon

Jon,

Do the basics, replace the fluids (coolant, oil, ps fluid, ATF, brake) with correct MB spec fluids and replace the belts and idler pulley so that you don't have to worry about them (while at it, check that the fan clutch is working).

You'll then be in a good position to shake it down and take it from there.

While on the subject of E55, I've just picked a saloon up and it's missing the warning triangle in the boot. Can anyone show me what it looks like and how to mount, so I can purchase the correct one from eBay? There seem to be a few styles.
