Hello guys

I am posting in the general because my niggles are numerous and not in one section. please inform if rules are broken!

I have had this car for a few months now and still love it, however I have noticed a few little things that realy £$% me off.

1. The Diff is a replacement Quaife diff that occasionally thuds slightly during gear change (not high on the annoying scale just a worry ecconomically??)

2. When I purchased the car the offside rear shocker needed replacing and it was bottoming out. this cured the bottoming out but still sounds like i have a dead body in my boot.. youtube vids point to the other rear shocker?? going to change next month

3. Changing from second to third gear at 30mph. The car hates going slow

4. Squeaking when i go over speed bumps, I know how much speed bumps ruin your car so im always below 20mph. I didnt notice this squeeking until AFTER the rear shocker mentioned in 2 was fitted

5. sounds like fighter jet under the bonnet and Im sure it didnt roll out of mb sounding like that

All these niggles have been looked at by cheshire AMG and it returns NO FAULTS.

Take the car to MSL Performance and get them to check it out.

Go straight to the organ-grinder(s)!

Cheers Johnboy MSL looks like the kind of place I should be taking my car but its 100miles away. You wouldn't happen to know reputable performance company in greater Manchester would you. If not at least I now know what environment she should be spending my wages. cheers bro

Steve, MSL is 165 miles from my house yet I wouldn't hesitate to take my E55 there for any work. Acid and his guys know our cars inside out. Trust them and you'll not be sorry.

What car did you have before the E55 Steve?

Getting a new car is sometimes like getting a new house; the creaks and sounds are unfamiliar so it sounds out of place.

100 miles us nothing to know you are visiting a firm that knows these cars inside out. Most probably it will end up saving you money in the long run.

Regarding the engine noise, these engines are very noisy and it took me a while to get used to it.

I don't know a specialist closer to Manchester. To be honest, the 100 mile trip would be well worth it in the absence of any further recommendations...

I go to MSL from nearly 200 miles away as well when necessary (I also have a local independent).

Big up date to this now. Had subframe bushes and controller arm bush and every bush in the subframe replaced. We couldnt help but notice that one of smaller bushes supplied by mb for the sf fitted many of the arms. Anyway job done and four wheel tracking done. Did a few hundred miles had it checked again so so if anything had slipped bush wise still good. Car does drive better than ever. BUT Still does feel better over bumps on the right than the left. This is driving me mad nobody else can feel it. If somebody can find this problem then can have my girlfriend she cooks and cleans and make good sandwiches

How do folk manage driving all that way to MSL? Do you wait while they do the work, get the train home, have a long weekend in brum (shudder)???

I would also like to know this. Two trips I thinks

You had the RH shock replaced, Have you done the left also? may be your problem. Always best to replace suspension parts in pairs.

RE: MSLP, I used to arrange a day with them and get up there properly-early so they can crack on.

They know what they can do in a day but if the sht hits the fan, Acid is a top guy and will ensure you go that day if that's what you planned.

I'd have been happy to leave my car there had I lived closer.

I'm about 2.5/3 hours from them.
