Hi All,
Well after much debate... today i finally chose to have my E55K exhaust secondary de-cat and resonator removed (replaced with straight pipes). Luckily was able to use existing balancing pipe (close to cat) cut and re-welded (see pics)
I was concerned the car would sound too loud after mods....fortunately for me the sound and result is perfect, at cruising i would say its a little bit louder than before, but when you accelerate you get a really nice deep growl thats puts an instant smile on your face...i am more than pleased.
I used a company called pipewerx near Ormskirk, lancs, really nice guys (Geoff is the owner) the job took about 2.5 hrs, they where recommended by my local MB indie...
Pipe Werx - Car and Bike Performance Exhaust and VAG Motor Engineering Specialists
I know there are lots of threads regarding X-pipes / de-cats, but for me the mod has worked out perfectly
Thought i would share the results...may put on youtube but its hard to replicate the in-car sound...
Cheers.
David.
