Hi Tom

Di you go ahead and get the resonator delete? I am thinking about getting this done on my E63 6.2

Ross

Hi Ross,

Sorry for the late reply, I've just got in from work.

I did indeed, and I'm really happy with the final result. I have uploaded a few drive off videos as well as a cold start and idle revving videos. They are in this section. I'm about to get the head down now I'm up in a few hours.

But if you want to hear more of that amazing V8 sound then a resenotor delete with straight pipes in place is the perfect mod. Near on stock sound just nice easy acceleration, but mid to heavy it's amazing. And upshifts and downshifts are so much better. Well worth the 150/200 quid to have it done. 👍

Thanks Tom I did find your other posts just after I had sent the initial message. Sounds great.

Who did you have carry out the work? I am in Colchester area, does anyone have any recommendations in the area that you know of?

Best regards
Ross

I used this guy, he's work is really good. Really nice guy also. He is very busy, so if you do use him, you made need to be patient. He had worked on both my AMG'S and the results were spot on for my liking. Dean he's name is. Based in Basildon. Bit of a trek for you, but he knows he's stuff. 👍

Is it the W212 E63 you have Ross?

Thanks for the link. Not too far from me, nice drive out while the roads are quiet! How long does it take?
Also considering getting the tips re-chromed at the same time. I got the car in July and spent ages trying to get rid of the carbon on the tips but have had to wave the white flag for the time being with the on set of winter.

Loving the car so far

Best regards

I'm very jealous of the motor. Lovely!

Two possible helpful ideas if these apply and you haven't tried them:

1. Autosol for polishing the tips, seems to get them clean easily.

2. With my little E350, the tips aren't actually connected to the exhaust (embarrassing I know) so they can be removed with 3 bolts and polished off the car. If you can get the tips away from the bumper it will make the job easier. I bet with the 63 though, they are proper tips connected to the exhaust, so it might be a job involving disconnecting the exhaust rubbers and supporting the exhaust to lower it slightly and get better access. If that's the case, I'd be asking to get that done whilst in at a specialist for a service and other work, as it will only be half an hour job surely What would we guess? £35 ish?

That's a stunner you have there 👍.

When I had mine done, I dropped it off to Dean, in the morning, he called me around lunch time, as the car was already. So not to long Ross.

I think best to contact him, go through what you would like done and he can give you a better idea. It's a Shame with the current world crisis that we are in, as there are some shops close by that you could have waited in and had something to eat and so on.

Does your car have the ceramic uprated break kit. I see the red calipers in the photos.

Whether or not you go with Pipecraft it's a must to let that V8 open its lungs Ross.

Lovely looking bus, that. Is it Iridium or Palladium silver?

Thanks for the info. No ceramics just the performance package

Cool.

Update, if you do decide on the exhaust mods 👍
