E63 'B' Service cost

I think you will find MB will want full payment before the last service is completed; they typically ensure this by taking a few months payment up front.
I don't believe that to be the case.

1(d) specifies - ending on the latest of:
- the attainment of the contracted number of services specified in the chosen Plan; or
- the attainment of the contracted number of months in the Plan; or
- the termination of MBUK's obligation to carry out the Routine Service in respect of it under any other provision of this Agreement.
- subject to early termination rights within this agreement.

If the Customer wishes to withdraw a Vehicle for any reason from this Agreement prior to the end of the Contract Period then the Customer will be liable to pay MBCAR a withdrawal charge calculated as follows: MBCAR Expenditure plus MBCAR Administration Costs less MBCAR Income.

This goes on to be defined as:
Will I be charged for terminating my Service Care Plan?
If you have received all of the services purchased under the Plan then you will be charged the remaining monthly payments outstanding to terminate your Plan.
If you have not used all of your services purchased under the Plan then we will calculate a termination fee based on the income received by MBCAR and the expenditure incurred in providing any services received to that date. This expenditure will include an administration charge for early termination of £40 plus VAT.
If you have paid less into the plan than we have paid out then you will be required to pay a fee. If you have paid more into the Plan than we have paid out then you will receive a credit for the difference.

So it also allows termination of the plan after the final service, paying off however many months are remaining without being charged an admin fee is how I read it.

well good luck - note that "the attainment of the contracted number of months in the Plan" is not defined
i'll bet that MB will set the number of contract months to be from, say, today through to the date of your last scheduled service.

If your service schedule is for 4 services starting in November 2019 and ending November 2022, i'll bet your last payment will be before November 2022 MB do this because they found people had a habit of cancelling the payments after the last service, as they didn't like still paying for something they had has the last of.

At least, that is how it was explained to me and how my plan played put. Of course MB may well have changed the terms of the plan, as they have recently done with their warranty.

Service Plan Schedule clearly lists commencing June 2019 and finishing June 2023.
As you say, perhaps they have recently changed their terms?

I know they won't let you start one with under 3 months to go until a service is due so I'm guessing owners probably get upsold a service plan when they take their car in and get hit with a bill that may be larger than they are expecting? At least that way there are likely to be fewer payments remaining after the final service.

I called my local Mercedes dealership in Poole last week to enquire about a service plan for my 2012 E63 wagon - prices were confirmed as follows:
12 months (one service) £104.00 per month
24 months (two services) £78.00 per month
36 months (three services) £69.00 per month
My next service is due @ 61,000 miles & I was quoted £419 inc VAT - it's had a major service @ 48,000 miles (plugs etc) so the next few services will be not to scary....
Still undecided what to do...…Scott did say I could sign up now & the next served would be included in the about prices...
I asked about discount offers & was informed there were none at the moment.
Think I might just pay for the next service & take it from there...

^ I can't see how that 12 month plan is value for money at £1248 for just one service:eek:
Two services costing you an average £936 each or 3 services costing an average of £827 isn't my idea of value either.
Poole is my main dealer too.

When you consider every other service is just a basic oil change and a check over I think I'd be payinging for each service as it occured and once out of warranty , using a good indy.

My thoughts exactly......as the next couple of services are basic ones i'm not gonna go with the service plan but go indy - just need to decide who to use...…

Do you know Star Cars in Poole..??

Do you mean Star-Tech?
Mercedes, BMW, Mini & Smart Car Service Centre Poole, Star Tech

I have used them a few times for a CPS , levelling in my xenons , fitting a new alternator and diagnosing a transmission fault on my old E280.
I find them very professional, ex MB techs and I'd have no problem having a service there.

I do however have an indy who has looked after my cars since 2003 and are in Southampton. I trust them totally to do a good job.
MBS of Southampton - The Mercedes-Benz Specialist

This guy has been brought to my attention recently and I'm thinking of letting him do a minor service next week. He is only 3 miles from my house.Just an oil/filter and brake fluid change.
I'll post up my experience when its been done.
