I am the proud new owner of a 2015 E63 estate and I am loving the car, it's a joy to drive. Only thing that was letting it down was the dated infotainment system so I fitted an apple car play module from integrated automotive. The car play module works brilliantly for anyone wondering. However, since fitting the car play module I have an "SOS not available" warning message on the dash. I have read the fault codes and there is a code present for the microphone "B143A13 microphone 1 has a malfunction There is an open circuit." If anyone has access to WIS, I am trying to find where the microphone actually is so I can do some wiring checks to see what is going on. It is likely something that I have disturbed when fitting the module but I don't know where the microphone actually is or if there is more than one.

Here is a picture of the new beast

Cheers guys

Usually in the overhead control panel or in the drivers 'A' pillar

I have removed the overhead control panel and taken it apart to see if there is a mic in there. I can see a little fan behind the vent but I’m not convinced that is the microphone. I also don’t think its behind the a-pillar trims as there is no cutout/vent for the sound to pass through.

That's the cabin air temp sensor.

Okay so not that then. There are a few other things that could be a mic that I’m not sure about…

Left side of steering wheel on dash

Vents on both corners of dash

Anyone know if these could be the mic?

Wish I could remember properly. Sold my W212 E63 3 years ago and I can't recall for sure if its the rear view mirror or the one on the dash as in your Pic 2.

I'm pretty sure the one near the steering wheel is an interior temp sensor, and the last picture is AC venting.

If memory serves me correctly it'll be in the mirror or somewhere in the dome light/mirror mount housing depending on spec (i.e. 1 or 3)

Sorted it today, can confirm the mic is built into the rear view mirror. Thanks guys
