I saw the recurring advisory for corroded brake pipes. Strange considering it has 8 claimed main dealer services, would have thought that would be picked up.

If it was for the first 8 years then it. At not have seen a main dealer for 5-6 years.

Exactly its awful plus i don't like black interiors

I like the 211 interior. That pale wood isn't too nice but there is a darker one that looks better. Looks dated compared to newer stuff.

I think that the colour combo on the interior with the black leather and bleached (?) wood trim isn't pleasant.

I've recently come to the conclusion of a potentially valid approach when buying used cars off (all the) shady car dealers.

If it looks well looked after, don't worry too much about the mechanical condition, because a lot of used car dealers won't let you get it inspected anyway. What you need to worry about is having in place a diamond encrusted platinum warranty of some sort. Then, after buying the car immediately deliver it to your pre-arranged trusted Merc specialist to have them crawl all over it. You then have the option of pursuing the warranty to put things right, or can reject the car with faults within the first 30 days.
If you don't have good warranty protection, you only have the option of rejecting the car. To my mind, this is the only principle that can be applied when buying used cars given the 100% shocking experience I've had from Traders, vs the near zero problems buying private.

Would you buy that car or look for another 1? I've not mentioned the dealer at all ,you are right ref dealers not all are honest infact most will tell you exactly what you want to here imo forget who's selling it check the car if happy buy it if not move on the OP asked for opinions 😉

Most traders warranty isn't worth the paper its written on imo

Yeah, I agree with that. I can't tell from the pics, but if it looks mint cosmetically and you like the options/colours etc, then consider it, also factoring in what I put above.

A good warranty will sort imminent mechanicals found on inspection. It won't sort cosmetic issues.

I've just noticed there's a video of it im not sure but seems abit high in price and it hasn't sold in 5 months so plenty of scope for a deal( i still don't like it but im not after 1)🤣🤣🤣🤣

Dont get folks who worry about the trader, you want to buy a car not marry the person selling it, if the car is honest buy it.
I think its obvious some traders are more trustworthy than others and some are more or less likely to knowingly sell bad cars to make money where as other might have better values. Then if there are any issues after sale some might be interested others might not care at all so it worth considering if they have a good reputation imo but then I'm suspicious of everyone 🤔
