E63. S worth the extra £?

Hi,

Looking to replace my sadly stolen E63 and I’ve come across a well specced S model.

Anyone got any direct experience of going from the 63 to the 63 S?

Is the extra power noticeable? Any other differences? How about the brakes? I’d just had new discs on mine, are the S discs even more expensive?

Anything else I should know?

There isn't someone here who has experience of both, but I don't remember his username

Apparently there are some minor differences in the front suspension that give improved feel from the front end. Other than that and the modest power hike, the differences are cosmetic.

The 'S' has 585 bhp, brakes with red calipers, AMG LSD, spoiler in body colour, 'S' logo on exhaust tips, AMG LED sills, AMG embossed headrests, IWC clock, nappa leather, 'S' logo on instrument cluster.

Is the Mercedes-AMG E63 really £10,000 slower than the E63 S?

And the front steering rack was tweaked/changed by AMG to make it much more sharper and responsive.

So I'd say yes I'd go with an S over standard.

My boss has just bought an AMG E63S , 612BHP. Absolutely fabulous car . not jealous mind!
