E63 S212 subwoofer not working

I recently bought an S212 E63. The audio sound seemed to lack bass and even after adjusting the equalisers through COMAND, there's very little bass. I've taken up the boot lining and listened next to the sub and there seems to be no bass at all coming from it. Wiring looks fine, but I'm no electrician

Are there any known problems with this? Anything I should be trying?

They aren't great when they are working!

Does the speaker cone move at all?

Initially, I'd be trying to access the speaker wires for the sub and testing them on an electrical tester, or if you don't have one, maybe a small old speaker you could connect instead to test?

My suspicion would be a previous keeper / owner has overdriven it and burnt out the voice coil (blown it).
