Hi all. I have a 2018 E63s, just coming up to its third birthday, and thus MOT.

Already serviced twice at 12000 and 24000 (under a gratis 2 year plan from MB because the car was delivered so so late), its now done only 27000 due to lockdown. I’ve just been quoted £950 for an A1 service by my local dealer. Are they having a laugh or does this service really have the sort of scope that might justify such a price?

bookmygarage.com quotes £250 for a 40 item ‘full’ ‘yearly’ service. At a dealership which is…my local MB franchise. Any experiences, or obvious reasons I shouldn’t go this way?

Any local MB specialists around buddy ? Or another MB service plan if you want to keep Mobilio cover ?

A service plan would be available for £1248 paid over 2 years, for 2 services, presumably an A and a B. So at

Thanks for those links. The online quote generator won't work with the car, leaving direct contact the only option. There's been an awful lot of 'I'll phone you back' going on, followed by a marked silence. A cynic might be tempted to think collusion is going on.

The 2 year plan looks good versus the £950 certainly. Perhaps a 4 year plan even better, as it's interest free, hedges inflation, and presumably at each service interval, if anything, the scope of work can only increase.

Yep good time for you to pull the trigger on a service plan.

I had the Service Care Plan twice, first time it was £35 per month, then £36, now it's £40 (for my car), so yes, the prices keep creeping-up so best to buy the longer term one if you intend on keeping the car.

There is also a 3 year plan option. In your case that would give you 2 x A services and one B, whereas the 4 year service would give you an additional more (even more?) expensive B service, so should work out better value. If you are concerned about selling the car before the expiry of the plan you will get a refund on any unused part, less a small admin fee. One other thing to consider is the transmission fluid change which is included in the service plan, and can make it more attractive if that will fall due. I am not familiar with the change intervals on the E63 but you can check by using the ESS link that Markjay helpfully provided - if necessary increasing the mileage/car age to see when it is called up. You will also get the Mobilo service renewed when serviced by MB. Of course, there is a school of thought that independent servicing is the better option but I won't get drawn in to that debate.
