Hi Guys

I noticed on my e63s the side emblem on the front wing drivers side (which looks like an upside down Nike logo) has come apart from the bodywork slightly at the pointed part of the emblem.

Does anybody know how this is fitted? Repaired or replaced please?

thanks

I believe the badge is stuck down with a once only sticky adhesive attached to the back. That looks how my V8 Biturbo wing badge is attached.

Whether a small piece of thin double sided tape would secure it I don't know, just guessing really. If its really bad, ask the dealership to replace it.
The badge itself is silly money expensive for what it is.

Thanks for that - I think you are right there. Somebody else told me it was with adhesive but then it looks like there’s some sort of hole/grommet behind the badge also so thought it was a plastic clip.

The dealer will replace and fit but it’s a 150 mile round trip!

Also, what tints do you have on. Your E? Mine is completely stock without tint so was thinking of a 20% rear with a light smoke at the front.

So that's about £40 in V-Power but you get a free fitting and drivetime in your AMG. No brainer. You couldn't do it yourself for the price.

The acceleration peddle is awfully addictive so that will be more like £80 in v power.

I think it will just need some strong adhesive glue but the sounds of it all anyway.

Gorilla tape would stick it, but I think it is thicker than the 3M stuff (which you can buy on eBay btw).

The problem with any adhesive is you don't want it to damage the paint/lacquer when removed. My experience with VHB has been positive in this aspect and it is more than strong enough for a sticker.

Great idea - I was also reluctant to use glue in case I chimped it.

The emblem itself it made from metal and it does not curve with the curvature of the car so it needs something strong enough to bend the metal at a small curve and have that stick flush. I tried regular double tape but it was noticeable and came off after 30 mins

The 150 mile round trip should be a good chance to stretch the cars legs;)
As for the tint, I went for one shade lower than the darkest tint at the rear. Didn't bother tinting the fronts.
The rears/and back window came in at £170 locally. I rather like the look and it keeps the youngsters cooler in hot sun.

Looks awesome. I’m surprised your tears tints came in pricey. I got tints done on my other car last week for £80 and got few quotes around £130-£150 for whole car on the e class. But then again I’m in London and there’s tinters on every other corner

^ I think you are right. I paid the going rate for my area where car tinting is not widespread.
