Pics from Yesterday

Many thanks to all who turned out yesterday I hope you had a good day. Shame the weather wasn't a little kinder to us and by the end of the day it looked as though the pristine cars we started with had done stages of the GB rally. Great cars, Great food and Great company, see you all again soon

I had intended to have a bucket of water thrown over mine on Saturday - but looking at the weather I came to the conclusion that the sky would throw enough water...

On the bright side, it's been into the main dealer for a minor repair today and been returned washed, vacuumed and polished nicely. They lent me a very nice 3 series touring for the 4 hours my little X1 was in the workshop, but I'm glad to have my own car back.

Great to meet everyone - and thanks to Ian for organising.

Was Daves Jeep banned from the car park! [emoji3]

Mercedes engine, Mercedes seat switches... near enough!

It was my BMW that was parked in a different car park in Glossop...

Thanks guys, as stated I didn't arrive until the others reached Glossop.

The Jeep has a lot of stuff in common with MB, though as they were both Daimler Chrysler at the time I suppose that's understandable. It also seems to have inherited the rust issue from the period, though hopefully I'm getting on top of that slowly. The transmission is the Mercedes 5 speed unit which, at around the time, was still being used in the E55 as the 7 speed wasn't happy with the torque. The engine, as mentioned is a Mopar special: Their 6.1 Hemi, which makes for an "interesting" ride, with a reasonable 0 - 60 time (<5 seconds) and 4 wheel drive to put it down.

Hopefully have the Merc back soon so I can go to more meets and not hide my car round corners. :)

Anyone cleaned there car since Sunday run? :wallbash::wallbash::wallbash::devil::devil::mad:
