The proposal for our “Christmas Do” is to visit one of our favourites , The Lion Inn at Blakey Ridge, on Saturday 9th November. It’s a bit early for Christmas but diaries get full quickly and hopefully the North Yorkshire Moors should be snow free so we can actually get there. I’ve made a provisional booking to be confirmed with meal choices at least two weeks before.
The plan will be to meet in the car park at Castle Howard near Malton between 9.30 and 10.00 and have a tea, coffee or whatever in The Courtyard Cafe when it opens at 10.00. We will leave at 11.00 and head to Helmsley , along Chop Gate to Stokesley, then head to Castleton and onto the Lion Inn to arrive around 12.30 ready to eat at 1.00.
I usually say “everyone welcome” but as the Lion Inn cannot accommodate an unlimited number of people on a weekend on this occasion I will give priority on a first come basis to people who have attended at least one of the Breakfast Meetings.
In a few weeks time I will ask people to confirm their choice.
