Over in London on my own and I fancied something to eat. Walked into Prezzo in Mill Hill.

Sat down, ate, got a few odd looks but it was quite nice.

Dined alone many times in many places across the country. As already said, if you want to eat, just do it.
I did have an odd experience in Milton's Indian restaurant in Chalfont St Giles one evening though, when I was truly dining alone because there was nobody else in the place. Maybe my reputation precedes me.

I have to do it occasionally when I'm away for work. I have no issue.

Twice now though in the last few years I've been mistaken for a food critic, given all sorts of stuff I didn't order and a tour of the kitchen.
Well, if they offer who am I to put them right....

I have done it several times.

Some restaurants are very couples-oriented, and I have felt awkward on occasion, but I've felt comfortable in almost every place without candles on the table.

Do it all the time in London and will be back at it again next month. But, I can find it difficult in some places to get a table for one. Anyway, eating out on your jack can be a blessing, so don't knock it even if you get the 'looks', after all as mentioned by Developer some of us eat due to hunger, rather than an excuse for a couples to pose

I had 100+ hotel nights last year. Normally there will be someone else from work in the hotel but if I am alone it tends to be room service.

Very occasionally I'll eat in the hotel restaurant but never think about venturing out solo.
