Ebay E55 facelift with bad history

Why do people try it on?

"PLZ CALL IN PLACE OF EMAILING OR TEXTING"

Yeah, right. He'll say he said in the phone call that it was a Cat C.

He's selling it as cat c salvage and it's not very expensive?

He added that this morning. Missing until now. Funny that.

Caveat emptor........

Of course, but not to mention something so blatant would make me wonder what else is not in the description.

I would consider a CAT C car, but not from someone trying to hide the fact from me.

Its not like you 'forget' its a write off?

I think that pretty much sums it up. Still looks like a nice specced up car though.

OP (Sam RS) - who did the HPI check? When was it written off?

What did the seller say?

Seems very little visible damage to be CAT C, would have thought CAT D unless there is something else he's not saying....

I'm guessing it's been damaged/repaired in the past - the dented bonnet is probably a recent incident.

Bearing in mind how much W210s rust though, the fact that it's been damaged/repaired wouldn't really matter if it's been done ok. They have all been painted by now anyway!

Yes but he refers to it having been VIC checked with the current damage so the implication is that the bonnet and grille damage is the cause of it being CAT C.

In the pictures the back left door is out of line and there is a crease on the back pillar. And did anyone else notice all the air-fresheners on the floor?

I agree it's misleading but it's clear that a small cosmetic dent on a bonnet wouldn't give a W210 a cat-C marker.

It's also MOT'd and taxed?

Hence was asking OP when he did the HPI check and what the date of the cat-C marker was :)

The CAT C marker must be from a previous accident as the car is supposed to have OEM xenons, but is instead fitted with halogen lights. This suggests a possible front end repair on the cheap. A real shame once a very super specced E55 !

Seems to be getting a fair few bids still. Be intestersting to see where it ends up.

I know this car and the owner and it is a Cat C
We serviced this car and still have to be paid for the work we did!!

How did they get the car without paying?
