Getting them programmed is quite easy by an independent key specialist - as the software can be bought;
but don't for a second think your buying a genuine MB key - Aliexpress and similar has many Chinese knock offs like this.

Also, many independent key specialists will not cut the blade as the metal used wrecks their cutters.

ive had 2 keys coded so far @ £150 a key, when i opened a key up to change the battery a small sticker inside read "made in china" as does that one on ebay....

sounds about right for a stealer. try sourcing an indy key maker that does mercs.

Last December I used this guy, found him on eBay, but I can't find him there now. Charged me £100 cash then and it works a treat.

Only problem I had was, he said he'd be an hour and directed me to the Mcdonalds half a mile down the road. As soon as I sat down with my burger (10>15 mins) he called to say he'd finished!

Polite and friendly guy turned up at my house , fiddled around under the dash (couldn't actually see what he was doing and thought it rude to ask) then presented me with a key (the nice chrome one) in about 1/2 hour.

Total bill was £140.

That was 6 months ago and the car is still there......(I've just looked). So I guess that's a recommendation.
