Ebay, what's the catch

How does this work then?

eBay - New phone for £1

There's loads like it.

Any ideas?
You buy a link to a website that tells you how to buy the item for the price quoted. They've got this type of add on all the gadgety bits:confused: not sure I'd trust it:confused: Would love to know if anybody has actually bitten the bullet and got what they wanted for the price quoted - or did they just say a fond farewell to their spondoolies:crazy:

The scam is.....a pyramid selling scheme, the ones at the top are the only ones to benefit.

If it looks too good to be true then it usually is a scam.

On the other hand, if you want a cheap contract phone from orange...let me know ;)

Apparently its a pyramid selling scam..sorry scheme.
In one particular scheme i read about, you pay £20 to the seller and that gets you a CD fully of very useful wallpapers and games..yeah right..

Then your name goes on a waiting list, when you reach the top of the list you get the phone. This can allegedly take weeks or months.

I am selling a phone on e-bay at the mo and am constantly getting e-mail's about this.

Please send me £25 and I will tell you if it is a con or not - you know it makes sense - I can save you money. ;-)

PS: I can knock a fiver off if you can get a friend to send me £25 too.
