Sierra Leone is the World's Largest Supplier of Diamonds.
For the Past 4 Months They Have Been on Strike, Refusing to Provide Diamonds Due to Horrible Working Conditions and Slave Pay.
The West Will Not Pay a Fair Wage for the Resources Because the Idea is to Keep These People Surviving on Rice Bags and Foreign AID So That They Remain a Source of Cheap Slave Labor Forever. A Reason Was Also Needed to Get Troops On the Ground In Sierra Leone to Force an End to the Diamond Miners Strikes.

Not a germ, but according to UNICEF Malaria kills one child every 30 seconds, about 3000 children every day. That's not counting the adults that die from it.

Yes, Ebola spreads (very) easily, but it can also be contained (very) easily. It's just not a pleasant thought. Historically, ebola was contained by just segregating the ill - it killed fast enough the the contagion wouldn't spread that far...

The difficult decision is now, do you try to help those that are ill, thus potentially spreading it further and making more people ill, or do you close the doors/borders and let it (and the people with it) literally die off?

It's a choice that I don't wish on anyone.

Flu is almost uncontainable.

Ebola is nasty - but it is actually controllable. The real issue is are the authorities prepared to do what it takes.

Flu trumps that, between 50 and 75 million in 1918-1920, and around 50 million move since 1920.

The sort of people that write this bull**** are the sort of people who get medical staff / humanitarians killed who are trying to help people.

You know what , let them get on with it there. All western troops / medical staff should pull out , then see what happens. See if the witch doctor / nutter is right.

I thought that the number of deaths was doubling every 20 days? If that is correct, would anyone care to estimate how many deaths might be expected over the next 12 months, and also how long might it be before everyone has been infected?

That means today's number multiplied by 2 to the power of (365 / 20).

So basically round it down to 360 days giving 360/20 which is 18.

2 to the power of 18 is 262144.

So in rough numbers whatever the number of deaths is today - say 4,000 multiplied by 250,000 which gives you a round billion.

If the death rate is say 50% then that would imply of 2 billion infected.
