Just had an e-mail from ECP saying they now do fully fitted tyres.

Haven't compared the prices to elsewhere, but the MBClub discount code doesn't work:(.

The tyre market is very competitive - perhaps they just can't manage a 25% discount?

Just had the same email and did a very quick comparison on just one tyre.
No club discount as previously stated.

e-tyres (Home fitting, but usually match local prices).

The interface and prices look very similar to Black Circles.

Conti Sport Contacts with the same tyre are £13 cheaper at Camskill than ECP tyres...

Hi all!

You beat us to it - a full thread will be posted later this afternoon, but im glad you spotted the launch email!

We have aimed our pricing to be VERY competitive, and through extensive checks we have been in the top 3 for price - which is a great thing!

We are also offering free fitting for a limited time, which means we are unable to offer any further discounts.

Nobody can guarantee to always be the cheapest, especially on a product like tyres, which change price on a weekly basis, however If we are out priced, please let us know and we'll see if there is anything to do :)

is the difference the price of fitting, that Camskill don't offer?

Possibly, all I did was punch in the same size tyre as in the second post and the Continentals came up at that price.

I'll be interested to see where ECP will be fitting the tyres, maybe local tyre places?

Thats quite good to know, that we're cheaper on this example :bannana: - The whole idea is that the price you see online, is all you need to pay, no extra charge for fitting, no hidden charges for tyre disposal and no valve and balancing costs!

As for fitting, the customer can choose their local fitting centre (based on postcode) from a selection of 850 approved fitting centres, ranging from small independent garages, to large national chains. :thumb:

Please feel free to have a go, and let me know your feedback, and if there is anything you need help on, from finding a part, or a pricing query feel free to give me a shout

Just had a play with the fitting centre finder and noticed that the map feature doesn't work. Said something about Google disabling the maps API for this application.
When I punched in my reg number for the ML250 The rim size option wasn't there. Manually entered and fine. Good price on Conti MO spec:thumb:

Thats an anoying bug, the team are working on it and should have it fixed by tomorrow.

Interesting, can you PM me your reg, and factory fitted tyre size so i can check why it doesnt return the option,

Thanks for the feedback guys!

Conti Sport Contact 5 245/40/17's @ ECP £141.20 fitted.

Conti Sport Contact 5 245/4017's @ Camskill £123 not fitted.

Ok for one tyre maybe, but a full set may work out more cost effective from Camskill in this example.

Having said that, the fact ECP trying to compete with Camskill is a good thing for the consumer.

My desk is filled with hundreds and hundreds of price checks - truth is, the prices change on average twice a week!

With this example, most garages will charge £10-15 per corner, aswell as any delivery charge.

That being said - with over 6,000 tyres wecant be the cheapest on ALL, but going off todays feedback we've landed in the right place!

The competition is hotting up, which can only be good for the consumers.
Even Asda are at it now and like many online sites are using local tyre fitters.
The price you see is the price you pay, no hidden extras.

Asda price!

Interesting - I saw the email on my phone as I left the office and thought "I wonder if the mbclub discount applies"....

Especially as I'm looking for "a few" (8-10 in the next week or two, and another 8-10 in the coming month) tyres...

Interestingly, the ECP site (not just the tyre system) doesn't like the registration number for the smart - comes up as a NULL make and model :p

--- If I may - a few comments for ECP:
* Would be nice to sort the list of tyres when searching... Obviously by price, but also by fuel efficiency, etc
* Maps doesn't work
Google has disabled use of the Maps API for this application. The provided key is not a valid Google API Key, or it is not authorized for the Google Maps Javascript API v3 on this site. If you are the owner of this application, you can learn about obtaining a valid key here: https://developers.google.com/maps/documentation/javascript/tutorial#api_key
* Would be nice to be able to add both parts and tyres to a cart and checkout
* As someone who buys spare tyres for endurance events, I don't always get the tyres fitted. Is there an option to buy "unfitted" tyres?
* Why doesn't the tyres subsite use the same (saved/account) details as the main site? A bit annoying that I need to re-enter everything...

unless ecp have bought a tyre fitting chain i would think they will be following the model used by a few others using firms like halfords to do the fitting or just fronting up for a tyre fitting firm - as long as its competition, will be good for the consumer

There appears to be a lot of interest in the price of Bridgestone RE050's?
A tyre that may have been the best 10 years ago but now living on its name only, the wet weather performance is on par with a budget tyre at best and is the worst tyre my CLK has used up to now.

Save your money & go for something else. I wonder how many tyres will be sold of cheap in the next year as the new ratings show them up as second best?

Fantastic support from loads of MBCLUB members, just like yourself, are what help us to improve and grow :thumb:

Product sorting:
By 2nd April, you'll see sortgin by price/brand/quality/loads/speed/performance (we wanted to launch early, so these had not been complete yet)

Maps: A bug with our Google API, this is being fixed

Add both parts: Can you drop me a PM explaining the problem you have found here, as I cant see a issue adding multiple parts to a basket

without fitting: Currently all tyres are delivered to the fitting centre, and the fitting is free - You can of course choose to simply collect them (however we dont save any money this way)

Accounts: Technical issue between databases and servers - the tech team are looking to merge them next month and although its anoying, we didnt want to delay the launch

Again, any feedback is GREATLY appriciated, especially from yourselves

If theres anything else you come accross, or want to know, as always you can drop me a PM!

Thanks again!

Pat

looks like ecp are using a multitude of different tyre fitters - not their own for their business model, unless they wish to correct me - i'd be inclined to go to someone i know is a competent tyre fitter rather than take pot luck
