Hi I have a 2012 e class E350 W212 the engine ecu wiring harness, has got water ingress into the plug, causing problems, I need to replace 6 connectors on the engine wiring loom, does any one know where to buy these, I am now looking from where water has got into the loom, the ECU and harness is located behind the off side front wheel liner, also if ECU faulty who repairs or exchanges the units.

why would anyone think this is good place to put electronic equipment.
Thanks for any help.

Theres about 30 different types of contact in Mercedes and they are available in different sizes (for different cable sizes) and different materials (copper, silver).
You also need a specialist crimping tool if you want a really decent connection to the wire - and you need to see how far the water has gone up the cable and destroyed it :-(

I can't recall where the W212 engine ECU is, but I didn't think it was anywhere where water could get. Post some pictures ... I may even be able to tell you what the connectors are .

Hi Richard the ecu is in the back of the inner wing drivers side, and water drips from bolt holes onto the ecu, I have done a water test its a poor design, I am after the crimp on connectors for the small 58 pin Tyco plug, part number A000 546-34 -81 there are 6 large and 19 small connector wires on this plug the loom goes to the front fuse box, see pic also second pic is ecu and it is the smaller plug right side I need
Thanks for any help as Mercedes say they do not do spares for this plug.
Regards John

Hi just to update, Mercedes as usual useless, still waiting after two weeks about connectors, Merc indi misdiagnosed the wrong loom, and it is the small plug loom from engine ECU to front Sam fuse box, its not supplied as a complete part, so fed up of waiting I bought a used engine wiring loom, as they are same connectors, only problem is connectors are a cheap one hit wonder of Mercedes, when you push them out of plug it destroys the retainer part, so I cut 6 wires of the used, loom lucky they were same colour codes and super glued connectors into my plug, then soldered the wires back and it worked perfectly, I also made a aluminium cover and fitted over ECU to stop any water causing more problems, water tested the cover, car now on road with no faults.
cost me £77.00 for for used loom and 1 day to fix, A independent Mercedes who misdiagnosed the wrong loom quoted £900 for wrong loom £1200 for ECU or £650 if repairable plus two days labour + vat so I saved £1000s, I love my Mercedes, its such a shame they let people down with poor design faults and a shameful over expensive and unavailable parts.

Well done for sorting it - and sorry I missed your reply. For anyone else I'm pretty sure that they are MLK1.2S (the S being ELA/Sealed) contacts .. I'm guessing that the large ones are SLK2.8 as they look like that to me.
With that info and the size of the wire, the part numbers are easily available in the parts catalogue ..

Whats wriong with used parts ? these parts dont wear .Get to a good used parts yard remove what you need , and splice the plug in much faster than buying the crimp tools to do it

Hi
This harness wiring is deteriorated around the injectors site with multiple areas where insulation has withered off
On eBay there are multiple options and quiet cheap just need the correct part no for my vin
I would’ve done as your saying but it’s too far damaged at multiple areas
Thanks

OP, sorry a bit late to the thread on this one.

I don't suppose you have any photos of your fix/cover for the ECU to protect against water drips?
