A class
Hi guys. I’m new here.
I have a 220d a class.

Originally had an issue with engine management coming on and DPF being an issue. Long story short , had dpf removed and dpf and egr deleted off the ecu. Had queries if this was actually happening but returned to the company and has been removed.
Car now has 2 issues, MPG is always really poor/low. Usual trips hitting 50-60mpg are now hitting 35-40max and a real lack of power/acceleration has appeared. Seems and feels like it’s kind of really straining to get it going but no error codes. Had MAF sensor replaced so that’s not the issue.
Any idea what could be the issue or what I could try and test.

Thanks for your help.

have you checked oil level? could be continuos regen mode now...

How do you know if it’s in continuous regen mode?
Oil level has risen when checked last

Risen oil level is a clear sign. Too much fuel which cannot be burned, it goes to oil sump.

Poor dpf removal programming....

Get it looked at ASAP by someone who can read the fault codes and understand them.

Also, I would not use it until the contaminated oil is drained and flushed along with a new oil filter.

Unfortunately the engine may have been damaged.

There are no error codes. New oil filter has gone in

Just don’t know where to go next

Have you had it on Star?

Other diagnostic systems may not find MB specific codes.

The engine oil is being diluted by Diesel. It will not lubricate the engine correctly. Changing the oil filter will not help.

As for your next move.

As previously said, get it to an MB specialist and get the contaminated oil flushed out and have it and the filter replaced and then get the faults sorted.

Have had it on an autel diagnostic machine. Not providing any fault codes but something clearly isn’t right. (There have been fault codes picked up before)

Is it an idea to take to a dealer or just a specialist ? Even tho no issues appearing?

Thank you for your help and replies I really appreciate it
As said, Star is the best way to find out what is wrong.

Find a local specialist and take it there. I would not drive it with the oil level being to high and contaminated with diesel.

What’s star likely to show compared to other diagnostics though?

Star and Xentry are MB's own diagnostic computers. A lot of functions and data are MB specific.

Other scanners, particularly high end units are able to access many MB systems and subsystems but not all.

Plus if things need recoding or software correcting or reflashing it can be done via Star /Xentry plus whoever has these systems also have expert knowledge on Mercedes vehicles

It seems that whoever removed your vehicles DPF did a very poor job

Get your old map put back on yes it will go into limp mode if you show the accelerator pedal any enthusiasm but Miss Daisy does not prevoke .

Then change oil etc , there's nothing worse for a Euro 5 onwards diesel engine than it to be stuck in regen all the time .

Then go to someone competent .

Or look at the member profile....
