As above i am assuming the egr is electronically controlled and therefore would have to be fooled to prevent limp home mode

Yes. the unit has to be disabled via port. The egr itself can remain ...no need to blank

I Assume you mean to use software block?

As original post mentioned... would like more details bait this procedure and also any other mods to be done to the 115 please...
