Having problems with the drivers seat in my C220 cdi, 2002.

The fuse in the boot for the seat keeps blowing whenever i try to move any of the electronic positions. I have been told that this is a common problem as wiring for the seat rubs somewhere and shorts, but thats the extent of my knowledge.

So my question is does anyone know of a quick fix for this or a how to as im now prepared fix this myself.

Which electric seat option do you have?

Which fuse actually blows? F34? What fuse size are you using?

The door buttons are signalled through CAN-bus in this car too if I got it right, the issue should then be from the seat control unit onwards, if not the seat control unit itself.

I would unplug all seat control motor wiring from the seat control unit and retry. If it does not blow a fuse, connect one at a time to isolate the issue.

Of course once you approach the seat control unit, you could have a look at the wires. I have not seen this been mentioned a typical problem for the W203 but I have neither spent time on W203 specific forums.
