Electric garage door not opening!

Hey all,

Ive got a electric garage door that goes up and over (chamberlain motor), about 10 yrs old and it stopped working today,cant open it, when i press the remote the motor just whirrs for a couple of seconds and no other movement is made.

Doesnt seem to be a manual release mechanism either? Any ideas?

Do you have any other way of getting into the garage?

If it's the same as mine - chain drive on a track - you can release the door arm at the track.

No idea what could be wrong, but they're pretty cheap to buy these days, so suspect the usual drill would be to just replace it.

Mine has a memory which has needed to be reset, just once in 2 years but still caused a fair bit of head scratching.

Have you tried to turn the power off for a few hours, it might help. my garage door wouldn't work last week, i turned the power off overnight, and as if by magic it worked.
