Electric seat problem

My drivers seat does not work on the forwards/backwards. I am told that the relay is U/S ..... £500 to sort it out.

Is this right? Anyone else had this problem?

check the fuse hasn't blown,its fairly common
its located in the fuse box in the boot

My passenger seat had the same problem. I took it to the local main dealer and was quoted £150(ish). The great thing was that the problem was just through lack of use it had given up. After much playing with the switch it worked fine. Make sure you try the switches several times before forking out, especially if you haven't used it recently. A tip for other 2 seater owners who usually drive alone, use the switches for the seat adjust now and again.

i had this problem a while back, i took the cicuit board out and took it to a local electronics company, a diode was out, cost me 50P.
