Electric Window on ML 270 CDi

Suddenly, the electric window (drivers) does not close.I can hear the motor clicking etc and with only physically helping up the window can I close it.
The window semms to open, but I am now nervous to open it again. The Local MB dealer say it is a known problem on Model year 2000, saying it is the switch, but will need taking to the dealer! (I hate to think how much this will cost) Has anyone had/heard of the same problem, would really appreciate any help. Thanks.

yes it is a com fault on ml's you will need a new switch group
i have found sometimes if you push the switch to the side slightly and at the same time lift the switch up to close the window you poss get it to shut
i dont think thay cost alot you will have to check

thay are a easy job to change pm me if you need any more help
