W124, stopping to say hello to a friend last night i switched off the ignition, opened the door and started to talk, then got back into car and pressed switch for drivers window and it went down,my wife then pressed her switch and her window went down, driving away we pressed our switches to put windows up and nothing happened and the radio didn't work either, the only way to close windows was to get out of car and use the key in door lock to close them, now they don't work at all, neither does the radio or electric aerial, it is not the fuse, they all seem ok, any ideas please anyone, thanks Rob

Sounds as if your "Ignition Switch" is playing up.

When you go into position one it should work all the auxiliaries.

Try switching on and off quickly a couple of times then ON, and try your Windows and Radio then.

If that doesn't work put the ignition in ON again and check what else works or doesn't to see whether it is the Ignition switch or not.

Hope this helps mate.

Hi Brian, thanks for advice, have tried what you said but to no avail, think it prob' is ignition switch as you said, it does feel loose and very jerky and sometimes is very hard to withdraw, will ring auto electric man in the morning to see what he can do, the only thing is getting a switch as the local stealer as just changed hands and they have got rid of a lot of old stock. Thanks for you help Rob
