I'm pretty sure the module needs coding in by Star.

A Star session is the way forward to diagnose the fault. You have tried parts darts to no avail, save your cash and get a Star session sorted.

I needed a new door module earlier this year, I usually do all of my own work to my cars.
Quick phone call confirmed it needed coding in. That was on a brand new module.
I ended up letting them do the full job to make life easier.
As already said, parts darts, can be an expensive game!

Thanks for your reply, to be honest I am being told YES and NO when I mention Star.....I installed a new Module as would not trust used part and thought it would work straight off.....but nothing..... trying to avoid Main Dealer as costly.....

Most German Specialists will have Star.
That'll more than half the labour costs.
My MB charges £220 an hour.
My Specialist charges £85.

Not sure , but if you unplug the electrical connections to the cam magnets on top front of the engine are they leaking oil ?
Maybe the oil has got into the front main engine electrical connection and corrupted everything .

Consider searching for an 'auto electrician' and run it by them and see what they say - it may just be more cost effective and they may already have the answer.

Unplug the electrical plugs on either magnet and look inside them .Did as you suggested, there was oil in the connectors but not a lot.... and it did not appear to go down the wires

Eeek !
Might be worth checking the main electrical plug (ECU) to the right of the air filter box to see if it’s in there as well .
