I've bought my wife a w176 A180. On a long journey to Cornwall, the Amber handbrake light came on at our arrival to our hotel. I can't seem to get it to go off and, it doesn't seem to affect the operation of the handbrake.
Has anyone got any idea's please, it's driving me nuts.

Have you got Mobilio cover if you just bought the car , or any breakdown cover , they may well attend

Are you sure it isn't a warning light for brake wear? A parking brake warning light a usually red.

What does the handbook say about warning lights?

Clevedon near Bristol has Avantgarde MB specialist if that helps

It does sound like a brake-wear indicator; if you're still in Cornwall the only main dealer is just outside Truro (Probus) and there's also a specialist there at Probus.

Depending whereabouts in Cornwall you are, there's another specialist at Saltash and a main dealer in Plymouth. Otherwise, any competent garage should be able to assist.

The EHB can get stuck and that light means its disabled or its stuck! , worth getting it on star to try and reset it. as others have said it could be the brake wear triggering it .
