electtronic power control

hi my e320 cdi yr 2000 has started to occasionally when starting to display the above and stop running then after a restart it disappears is this ominous ,and what is the electronic power control ?

Mine turned out to be the MAF on my c270, but had different symptoms. My EPC fault flashed up if I gave the car the some heavy foot and would stall the car, always starting back up immediately.

You are most likely getting air in the system. Check the clear fuel pipes (3 of them) and change the o rings. If the pipes are brown and brittle they may need changing. Check the HP pump for leaks before changing the pipes though
